Chef

The Chef’s duty is at the discretion of the employer.

A personal chef creates culinary delights, preparing meals for clients in house.

Personal chefs must have organization and cleanliness, maintaining the highest quality of food preparation. Each meal will be customized according to client’s dietary needs and preferences. Chefs shop for the menu, cook and clean up (with or without a team of staff assisting).

Each household is unique and will determine which meals, snacks and/or other accoutrements to prepare weekly.

Chefs are of high value to busy professionals and clients that entertain often.

Some Responsibilities of a Chef:

• Preparing global cuisine styles (Mediterranean, French, Italian, Asian, Middle Eastern, Vegetarian, Vegan, Diabetic, Fusion, Macrobiotic, Keto, Paleo & Speciality Diets) 

• Menu planning based on employers specific needs 

• Grocery shopping, purveying at farmers markets and locally sourced foods

• Food handling skills and proper culinary techniques  

• Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, refrigerator(s), cabinets, drawers, pantry, etc. 

• Safe packaging for foods at all times  

• Accurate labeling and heating instructions for meals (typically for chef days off)

• Convenient storage for prepared items in refrigerator or freezer 

• Ability to manage a team of kitchen help for private dinners and special occasions 

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as requested

• Follow proper table settings etiquette, willingness to clean up after meals 

• Flexibility when working in a busy home, must be easy going with good temperament

Qualifications to register as a Chef candidate with Kate’s Choice

• Minimum 3-5 years experience in your domestic field  

• Educational background & degrees that apply to position  

• Impeccable references from 2-3 previous employers  

• Valid Drivers License  

• Proof of Citizenship  

• Clean Driving Record 

• Must pass background check  

• Credit check (depending on job duties) 

• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) 

• Comfortable with being legally employed (W2) and paid via Payroll 

• Valid Passport holder & willingness to travel  

• Legal to work in the U.S.  

• Non-Smoker 

• Drug- Free
